There is something that Asian researchers have found - even creating an artificial smile on your face lessens pressures you may have.
They tested people holding chopsticks in their mouths. First, holding the ends long ways. Then, secondly, they got them to hold the chopstick sideways in their mouths, like a mouth shapes when you smile.
What they found was that the second method helped people lessen their stress and pressure.
Try it with a pencil in your mouth. Something in the body seems to change when we have a smiling face, it seems it has some effect on our chemistry or emotion.
I tried it. I found it fun to do for two or three minutes, and a smile stayed on my face afterwards! If you’re feeling a bit low, and you have some chopsticks or a pencil, why don’t you try it? You have nothing to lose.
