Changing your mind-set is the difference, and that is why the saying that "practice makes perfect" is very true.
So be clear about the outcome you want. Keep visualizing it, keep thinking about it, keep experiencing it in your mind through your feelings, and even hear yourself saying things as though you have already achieved what you want. There are so many theories about how to create your reality or, in today’s language, how to use the "law of attraction".
If you want success, then you must control your fear. Although your goal may seem like a thousand miles away, just ask yourself a question: "how do I walk a thousand miles?" And the answer is "one step at a time."
It concerns me today about the lack of people’s ability to have discipline, particularly self-discipline. You definitely need to discipline yourself for success. This is a great habit to develop. In fact, if you don’t practice and develop self-discipline, I doubt that you will achieve what you want. If you don’t practice and discipline your thoughts, your mind can run riot. Think about those occasions when the voice in your head doesn’t stop talking to you, usually in the negative.
Change your viewpoint. Your mindset is the difference. Rehearse in your head about what type of conversations you will be having when you are successful and practice again and again - repetition is the key.
The other important thing is about practicing to decide what it is that you want. All successful people have learned the ability to make decisions, and not to procrastinate.
In the corporate world, trillions and trillions of dollars are lost through people not making decisions. I always remember the story of Mr Jack Welsh, head of General Electric, who said something like this: "In the last 180 days, we have bought 160 companies and they have all gone through the same due diligence process, some of them perfectly match our organization, some of them only parts will be suitable which we will keep and sell the rest, and others won’t be useful and we will sell off. The point is that we made a decision and now we can make another one."
