It was such a huge shock to see on TV the devastation in Northern Japan and, only two weeks earlier, witnessing the city of Christchurch in piles of rubble. It was like my boyhood memories of wartime London.
Some 23 years ago, I discovered that for me, my friends were my greatest asset - not my money. My friends are my greatest asset and make me who and what I am.
Both Japan and New Zealand are Keiko’s and my second homes and countries. We trust that you, your family and friends are safe, during this terrible tragedy. It is early days yet, and Japan and its people will still have to experience many unpleasant events as time goes by.
But Japanese people will rise to the occasion, as Japan is a wonderful nation and the Japanese people have a great resilience to overcome adversity.
We send our prayers and blessings for your safety and good health and to your friends, family and to all of the people of Japan.
