When I talk to you about having a dream, an aspiration, a vision and to use the technique of visualization, what I am talking about is using your imagination. Many people say they do not have an imagination, but this is not true.
If I tell you, "do not think about a pink elephant, do not think about a pink elephant," what did you think of? Yes, that’s right, you thought about a pink elephant.
Here is a little test to check your imagination, because to be able to visualize your vision, you need to have imagination.
Please close your eyes, and imagine the front door of your house. When you see the front door of your house, walk through the front door and into the kitchen. There you will see a bowl of creamy pumpkin soup. Still keeping your eyes close, what colour is the pumpkin soup that you see in your imagination?
Get the picture?
So, when you start working on your vision, or your dream, maybe you will want to start with a question of, ‘If I couldn’t fail, what would I love to do in my life?’
Then on a separate sheet of paper, write down all of your answers. Then, in your imagination, think about the various things you have written down and you will start to make a picture of what is your dream, your aspiration, your vision. This obviously requires a bit of practice and each time you practice, the picture of your dream gets bigger and clearer. Then you know what it is that you want, then you can decide clearly, specifically and positively what will go into your dream.
