What One Smile Can Do

Written by Brian Martin

How did your mirror exercise go? I have another exercise for you. The great thing about this exercise is that you are starting to add positive value to other people’s lives, which will come right back to you multiplied.

Are you ready? Here we go.

I request you to:
Firstly, smile at, at least three people. But please do not feel limited to three people! The more the merrier - you will add value to the world.

Secondly, say some warm, kind word as you smile at them, such as "Good morning," "How are you today?" or "Thank you." If they smile at you, say "Thank you for your beautiful smile."  I can tell you they will be smiling at people all day.

We love to have a compliment. I say the nicest thing we can give to another human being is a smile.

I am always telling the top and senior managers whom I coach or train in leadership, to smile at your staff. You don’t need any budget approval from head office. The positive feedback they give me about what their staff say is just wonderful to hear.
